Most world championships by a skip
Won in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2026, six of them in finals against Canadian rinks. He broke the record he already held in his final competitive event.
Curling's record book is unusually clean, because the sport has kept shot-by-shot statistics at championship level for decades and its major events have run continuously since 1959 for men and 1979 for women. What follows are the marks that have survived scrutiny, with the year each was set and, where a record is still live, the season it was last verified.
A note on the rarest of them all: the eight-ender, in which one team scores with every stone in an end, has never happened in the 99-year history of the Brier, and Canadian officials put the odds at roughly one in 120,000. Curling Canada maintains a formal award for anyone who manages one at any level of play.

Most world women's championships by a player
Won with four different teams: as an alternate in 2012, as a skip in 2015, and as fourth player for Silvana Tirinzoni in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Shared with teammate Carole Howald.

Most world men's titles by a nation
Canada won 13 of the first 20 world championships and has not added one since Brad Gushue's victory in Edmonton in 2017, the longest drought in its history.

Most world women's titles by a nation
Extended by Rachel Homan's back-to-back wins in 2024 and 2025. Switzerland is the closest challenger and took the 2026 title in Calgary through Xenia Schwaller's rink.

Most Olympic golds as a skip
Norberg won for Sweden in 2006 and 2010; Jacobs won for Canada in 2014 and 2026, becoming the first male skip to do it. Anna Hasselborg joined them among women in 2026.

Only skip with three Olympic medals
Bronze at Sochi, silver at PyeongChang and gold at Beijing. His third, Oskar Eriksson, matches the medal haul as a player rather than as a skip.

Perfect Olympic tournaments
Martin's men swept Vancouver 2010, the first side to go unbeaten since Great Britain in 1924. Jones repeated it for the women at Sochi 2014.

Gushue won all six as a skip, the most in that role, and holds the records for Brier appearances with 23 and for most games won by a skip. Ferbey won two as a third and four as a skip.

Recovered from a drained pond near Dunblane in Scotland, it predates the earliest written reference to the game by thirty years and is the oldest physical evidence of curling anywhere.

Kilsyth in Stirlingshire claims the world's first formally constituted club; the Royal Montreal Curling Club is the oldest sports club of any kind still operating in North America.
