- Unfinished national docks — Some inquiries continue or faded without a public result. Mixed status is a map, not a shrug.
- How much secrecy actually fell — Registers opened and, in some places, later narrowed. Scholars still argue the net effect.
- Clients never named in stories — Journalists published a fraction of the names. Absence from a headline is not clearance or guilt.
- Sequel leaks — Paradise and Pandora Papers extended the method. Whether Panama remains the master name is a memory question.
Myth vs record
The leak was a US intelligence operation.
No public record establishes that. The known path is John Doe to Süddeutsche to ICIJ. Rival states have alleged plots; they have not replaced that path.
Mossack Fonseca was the world's only offshore firm.
It was a large one. Later leaks named other intermediaries. Panama is a chapter, not the whole industry.
A film is the record.
The Laundromat is drama. ICIJ stories and official inquiries are the file.
