English folklore still wants a perfect vault story. The record wants a courtroom and an empty recovery column.

- Where the 2003 lot went — Most stones were never identified in public as recovered Antwerp goods. Recutting would erase easy matching.
- A complete tenant inventory — Because many firms used the vault, no single published list equals the whole haul.
- Absentia defendants — Some convicted people were not in Belgian custody. Their later lives are a footnote, not a restitution.
- True scale versus press rounding — Notarbartolo and others disputed the $100 million talk. The honest stance is a dated estimate with a wide band.
- Whether any stones sit unsold — Hidden stock, if it exists, has no public location. Anniversary journalism has not produced a find.

The School of Turin is an official gang title.
The phrase is later English journalism. Belgian courts convicted named defendants, not a registered school.
The diamonds came back after the trial.
Convictions and recovery are different columns. Most of the haul never reappeared as the 2003 lot.
