Campaigns

How Royal Navy unfolded as historical sequence, not instruction.

Educational history. Casualty figures are documented ranges. This is not operational advice, a ranking of nations, or a how-to for weapons or coups.

Trafalgar, Jutland, the two Atlantics, Mediterranean 1940-43, Korea 1950-53 -- dated.

No attack geometry.

Principles

Trafalgar, 1805

The civic religion's date.

Jutland, 1916

The argument that replaced a simple win.

Korea, 1950-53

A UN naval war London under-teaches.

Two-power standard

A dated strength rule of thumb -- history of a slogan. Read as a Tudor standing navy to present (Nelson 1805 as the popular hinge; two world wars as the industrial peak) concept in Home waters, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and a global imperial-then-alliance map.

Press gang

Manning violence of the sailing navy -- part of the cost file. Not a present instruction.

1650s-60s: A Restoration navy as a paperwork institution.

  2. Trafalgar

1916-05-31: The battle-line argument of the century.

A dated beat of Royal Navy in Home waters, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and a global imperial-then-alliance map. Sequence as history, not as a campaign to copy.

  5. First Atlantic crisis

A dated beat of Royal Navy in Home waters, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and a global imperial-then-alliance map. Sequence as history, not as a campaign to copy.

  6. Second Atlantic

1939-43: Western Approaches as a system.

A dated beat of Royal Navy in Home waters, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and a global imperial-then-alliance map. Sequence as history, not as a campaign to copy.

Limits

Source limits

Figures such as "not one war -- an institution; human cost sits in the wars the fleet fought" stay in ranges because records are incomplete, political, or still closed. Why Trafalgar? is answered as a band.

No how-to

Royal Navy is era-bounded force-structure history, not a live order of battle or mobilisation how-to.

Memory bias

English-language fame of Royal Navy and local memory in Home waters, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and a global imperial-then-alliance map are not the same map. William Andrewes is often the correction the first photograph drops.

Taranto and later carrier raids are historical events. They are not a strike syllabus.

Convoy is named as a 1917/1943 reply that worked -- historically.
