Most world titles, men
Salchow won the World Championships in five straight years from 1901, lost the 1906 title, then won five more from 1907. No man has come within three of the total in the century since.
Figure skating records fall into two families that do not compare well. Championship counts stretch back to 1896 and are directly comparable across time, which is why Salchow, Henie and Rodnina still hold marks a century or half a century old. Score records only exist since 2004, and the ISU has reset them twice, after the grade of execution was widened to -5 to +5 in 2018 and again after program components were cut from five to three in 2022.
The figures below use the most widely accepted numbers and name the event and year each mark was set. Where a score record has been superseded by later rule changes, the entry says what the mark represented at the time rather than implying it is still comparable to a modern score.

Henie never lost a world championship she entered after the age of fourteen, retiring undefeated to sign with Hollywood. Carol Heiss and Michelle Kwan, with five each, are the closest since.

Rodnina won four titles with Alexei Ulanov and six with Alexander Zaitsev, the only skater to build two separate world-title partnerships and win with both.

Most world titles, ice dance
The Soviet pair won five straight from 1970 and a sixth in 1976, the year they also took the first Olympic ice dance gold. Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron are next with five.

Most Olympic medals by a figure skater
Three golds and two silvers across Vancouver, Sochi and Pyeongchang, counting both the ice dance event and the team event introduced in 2014.

Gillis Grafström is the only skater to win at both a Summer and a Winter Olympics, taking the 1920 Antwerp title before the Winter Games existed, then Chamonix 1924 and St. Moritz 1928.

Browning landed it in the free skate at the World Championships in Budapest on 25 March 1988, a jump the sport had chased for a decade and which became a competitive requirement within ten years.

The 17-year-old American landed it at the US International Classic in Lake Placid on 14 September 2022. With a base value of 12.50 it is the highest-valued single element in the sport.

Ando landed it at the Junior Grand Prix Final in The Hague in December 2002, aged fourteen. No woman repeated the feat in competition for another fifteen years.

Their Boléro free dance at Sarajevo drew maximum marks from every judge for artistic impression, the only unanimous set of 6.0s in Olympic figure skating history.

Lipinski won the women's title at Nagano days before her sixteenth birthday. The record is now effectively frozen: the ISU raised the senior minimum age to 17 in phases from 2023.
