France's dominant club, built with money, and still without a European title. Its roots trace to Paris Handball, founded in 1941, but its current form dates to 2012, when it was absorbed under Paris Saint-Germain and Qatari capital arrived. It has won the French league 13 times, twelve of them consecutively from 2014-15 through 2025-26, plus six Coupe de France and five Trophee des Champions titles. Mikkel Hansen anchored the team for nearly a decade, Nikola Karabatic spent the latter part of his career here, and Uwe Gensheimer and his brother Luka Karabatic also passed through. Its best Champions League result, though, remains a one-goal, 24-23 loss to Vardar in the 2017 final. Its home arena seats only 4,016, and the mismatch between spending and facilities remains a long-standing issue for the club.

Rivalry

Montpellier and Nantes are its only real domestic competitors. Montpellier is the sole French club to have won the Champions League, so no matter how thoroughly PSG dominates domestically, it still trails Montpellier on European silverware, and that asymmetry defines the relationship between the two clubs.
