• How much grammar is built-in — Chomsky versus usage-based camps (Tomasello and others). Both still need input.
• Accent as the moral of the window — Adults can be excellent users with a “foreign” sound. Schools often punish the wrong variable.
• Documentation versus performance — Hale’s talent is not a spelling-bee talent.

Linguistic talent: size the claim to the study. Interaction, not a 50/50 slogan, is the default model.
