Major honours
South America's only top-tier program and a model of a power built fresh in the 21st century. Its starting point was Daiane dos Santos, who became Brazil's first World champion on floor at the 2003 Anaheim Worlds and left an element named after her in the Code of Points. Arthur Zanetti won rings gold at London 2012 for Brazil's first Olympic gymnastics gold, and the training infrastructure built ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympics supported the generation that followed. That generation's peak is Rebeca Andrade. She won vault gold and all-around silver at Tokyo 2021, took the World all-around title at Liverpool in 2022, and at Paris 2024 added floor gold plus silver in the all-around and vault and bronze with the women's team, bringing her career Olympic medal total to six — the most of any Brazilian Olympian in any sport. Paris's team bronze was also the first Olympic team medal Brazilian gymnastics has ever won.

Rivalry
The Andrade-Biles rivalry has defined 2020s women's gymnastics. Andrade beat Biles at the 2022 Worlds and in the Paris 2024 floor final, and the image of Biles and Jordan Chiles bowing to her on the Paris podium became one of the Games' defining pictures.
