Major honours
KTM is a manufacturer that carried resources built in off-road and rally racing over into road racing. It entered the 125cc class in 2003, took its first world title with Sandro Cortese in 2012, and became the leading Moto3 supplier, producing champions such as Brad Binder and Pedro Acosta. When KTM entered the premier class in 2017 it was the only team on the grid running a tubular steel trellis frame and WP suspension, a deliberately different path in an environment where aluminium beam frames and Ohlins were the standard. The first win came from Brad Binder at Brno in 2020, and Miguel Oliveira added two more that same year at Spielberg and Portimao. KTM has fielded up to four bikes through Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, Tech3 and the GASGAS brand, and by 2024 it had become the second most stable top-tier force among European manufacturers after Ducati, though group-level financial restructuring has continued to strain the scale of its entry since 2025.

KTM and Aprilia are directly compared as the European latecomers fighting over the ground Ducati has left behind, and both have grown by leaning on the lower tiers of the concessions system. KTM's clash with Ducati at its home Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring has become one of the series' signature annual duels.
