Okinawa

Points

Eight real sites: Kerama, Ishigaki manta, Blue Cave and the chain around them.

These are famous, mapped sites. Wind and season change; shops and the Coast Guard publish the day. Depths are typical published bands, not a live plan.

A Kerama snorkel or a quiet beach is the correct first Okinawa water. The Blue Cave is a crowded optional.

Points

Kerama Islands (Zamami / Aka area)

Kerama NP, Okinawa · 2-20 m · often 15-25 m · summer popular

A 2014 national park west of Naha. Boat snorkel and scuba, turtles, clarity. Wind is the gate; Zamami is a common gateway.

Ishigaki Manta Scramble / Kabira points

Ishigaki, Yaeyama · 8-20 m · often 15-25 m · seasonal manta

Boat sites where manta rays are seen in season. Distance rules, current, no chase. Not a first Maeda hour.

Blue Cave (Cape Maeda)

Onna, Okinawa Island · 3-8 m · variable · summer crowds

A limestone sea cave entered from shore. Overhead-adjacent, crowded, swell-sensitive. A mass product, not a cavern course.

Yonehara Beach

Ishigaki · 1-5 m · variable · calm summer

A sand-and-reef beach snorkel when conditions allow. The classroom contrast to a manta boat.

Miyako / Irabu limestone sites

Miyako Islands · 5-25 m · often 15-25 m · weather windows

Shore and boat caves and drops on a limestone plateau. Guided overhead-adjacent sites; a different map from Naha.

Minna Island

Motobu, Okinawa Island · 1-6 m · variable · summer day trips

A small island day-trip with beach and glass-bottom culture. A gentle main-island option when Maeda is a scrum.

Cape Maeda open-water (outside the cave)

Onna, Okinawa Island · 5-15 m · variable · calm mornings

The same cape's open reef, used for checkout and intro dives. Stairs and swell still rule; the cave is optional.

Yonaguni (including the monument area)

Yonaguni Island · 8-25 m · current, variable · weather windows

A remote western island with strong current and a famous submerged rock formation. Advanced, optional, not a first prefecture dive. This atlas will not adjudicate origin theories.

Tips

Okinawa is a park boat, a cave queue and a Yaeyama manta. The prefecture is a chain, not one stair.
