Jeju

Origins

From haenyeo work and a volcanic listing to Seogwipo boats.

Haenyeo work is older than tourism. As a visitor destination Jeju adds a 2007 UNESCO volcanic listing, a 2010s Seogwipo dive-shop cluster, and a 2016 heritage listing that made the women divers a public sentence, for better and worse.

The history is a working lung, then a ferry ticket.
