How

Tower or ticket first, then a bay, then a night or a wall.

The method is a lifeguarded or ticketed bay (Hanauma, a Kona morning, a Maui boat), then optional walls and nights. Winter North Shore is a surf map, not a snorkel map.

A first day belongs in a marked shallows, not on Molokini's back wall.

Steps

  1. Read the tower or the reservation

Hanauma is a ticket. Other bays are a flag.

A remembered holiday is not the brief.

  2. Enter on sand or a known lava step

Two Step is named because the entry is the skill.

    Never on living coral.

  3. Morning over afternoon

    Trades and boats usually worsen.

Kona and Molokini culture is an early boat.

  4. Manta night only with a code-following operator

    Lights, distance, no touch.

    See night-diving.

  5. Treat channels as channels

Waikiki and Kealakekua have boat lanes.

A dark head is easy to miss.

  6. Leave the turtle a door

Distance rules; if it turns, the person moved wrong.

Common mistakes

The method is a ticket and a morning. The back wall and the night are later exams.
