Major honours
T1 has won more world titles than any other organization in esports history. Descended from 4U and Orion, the teams that once fielded Lim Yo-hwan, it was founded as SK Telecom T1 in 2004 and began as a powerhouse of the StarCraft: Brood War Proleague before founding a League of Legends division in 2012 that shifted the organization's center of gravity. With mid laner Faker, who debuted in 2013, T1 won the World Championship that same year, repeated in 2015 and 2016, and after a long drought returned to the top in 2023 and 2024 for an unmatched fifth title. The organization renamed itself T1 in 2019 after forming a joint venture with Comcast Spectacor, and later expanded into Valorant and PUBG. Keeping one player for more than twelve years and winning five world titles alongside him has no parallel anywhere in the sport.

Rivalry
The telecom derby between SK Telecom and KT was long the LCK's marquee fixture. Since the 2020s, the rivalry with Gen.G, built around Chovy and Ruler, has effectively taken over the LCK final and become the league's new axis.
