Formed in 2017 when Emirati capital took over Italy's Lampre-Merida WorldTour licence, the team changed cycling's balance of power by turning pro a 20-year-old Tadej Pogacar in 2019. Pogacar has won the Tour de France in this jersey in 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025, plus the 2024 Giro d'Italia, completing the Giro-Tour-Worlds triple crown in 2024 and defending the world title again in 2025. Among the Monuments, the team has won Il Lombardia five straight times from 2021 to 2025, and taken Liege-Bastogne-Liege and the Tour of Flanders twice each. Riders who would lead almost any other team, Adam Yates, Juan Ayuso, Isaac del Toro, Tim Wellens, ride here in service of one man, and in 2025 the team added XRG to its name alongside expanded sponsorship. No team has dominated the Grand Tours and one-day races simultaneously like this since Merckx's Molteni.

Rivalry
Every season since 2022 comes down to the rivalry with Jonas Vingegaard's Visma. Pogacar lost the Tour to Vingegaard in 2022 and 2023 before reclaiming it in 2024 and 2025, and the two men's mountain duels now own the story of the modern Grand Tour almost outright.
