Founded by Tim Mara in 1925, the Giants have never left family hands. They won three NFL titles in the 1920s and 1930s and another in 1956, but the game that defined them was a loss — the 1958 Championship against Baltimore going to sudden-death overtime. The Giants' offensive and defensive coordinators that day were Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry, a snapshot of 1950s New York talent density. In the Super Bowl era, Lawrence Taylor and Bill Parcells won XXI and XXV; Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin took XLII and XLVI, both upsets over New England. MetLife Stadium, shared with the Jets since 2010, seats 82,500 — the NFL's largest.

Rivalry

The NFC East feud with Philadelphia dates to 1933 and ranks among the most frequent matchups in league history — close cities and fierce fan bases make every meeting rough. Dallas has been the other pole of the division since the 1960s.
