Born as the Decatur Staleys starch-factory team in 1920 and moved to Chicago the next year, the Bears are one of only two franchises from the 1920 founding still operating, alongside Arizona. George Halas played, coached, and owned across four stints and 40 seasons, leaving 324 regular-season wins. Nine career championships rank second to Green Bay, but eight came before 1963 and the lone Super Bowl win was the 1985 season alone. That team, fronted by Buddy Ryan's 46 defence, went 15–1, shut out two playoff opponents, and beat New England 46–10 in Super Bowl XX. Soldier Field's 61,500 seats make it the NFL's smallest home stadium; wind off Lake Michigan turned it into a graveyard for kickers.
