Major honours
France has carried a world-leading lineage in ice dance. Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron won five World Championship titles and gold at the Beijing 2022 Olympics, resetting the technical and artistic standard of modern ice dance. Their work is widely regarded as bringing to ice dance a refinement matching the quadruple age of men's singles in the same era. Philippe Candeloro drove French men's singles' popular appeal in the 1990s with flamboyant choreography and strong characterization, and Brian Joubert carried the men's singles line forward in the late 2000s with a World Championship title and repeated Olympic medal contention. France also serves as a geographic hub as ice dance training infrastructure is reorganized around Montreal following Russia's exclusion.
