Methods
- Infection / inoculation — Wild wound versus plantation drill-and-fungus.
- Hydro-distillation — Long still times; oil is dark and thick.
- Chip burning — Bakhoor and kōdō — scent without alcohol.
- Accord oud — Guaiac, cypriol, castoreum-synths when oil is fake or tiny.
- Rose-oud architecture — Dry damask, not jam, over agar.

Kōdō, bakhoor, or Paris extrait.
They are different objects.
- Smell a real oil once
Calibrates every “oud” flanker.
Barnyard can be correct.
- Dress lightly
Saffron and dry rose.
Vanilla-oud is a pastry oriental.
- Dose as a trace
Agar drowns a formula.
More is not more royal.
- Test smoke separately
Incense accords need air.
Closed rooms go churchy-sweet.
- Fraud check
Price, viscosity, and a trusted seller.
Most cheap oud is cypriol-guaiac.
Limits
- Approachability — Lowest of the 24 — animal and smoke split rooms.
- Fraud rate — The word oud outsells the wood.
- Versatility — A wedding bakhoor is not an open-plan Monday.
