An accord is a geometry. Oriental amber is rose, jasmine, sandalwood, oud, vetiver, musk or amber stacked on purpose.
Naturals and molecules share the same pyramid; IFRA draws some of the lines.
Accords
- Shalimar night — Bergamot + vanillin + balsam + animal.
- Youth Dew oil — Bath-oil amber, dense.
- Opium spice — Carnation, incense, balsam.
- Ambre Sultan — Labdanum-herb amber.
- Soft amber — Benzoin-vanilla without civet.
Materials
- Labdanum — Cistus; the true “amber” resin in most formulas.
- Benzoin — Styrax tonkinensis; sweet balsam.
- Vanilla / vanillin — Shalimar’s night sugar — still balsamic, not pastry only.
- Ambergris / Ambrox — Salt-animal; the namesake rarely used neat.
- Tolu / Peru balsam — IFRA-watched sweets.
- Civet / synths — Jicky–Shalimar animal.
