Craft for Jasmine is solvent, steam, headspace and dose — not a mood.

The six steps below are a studio loop; they are not a safety sheet.

Methods

• Night pick — Scent peaks after dusk; dawn is a different flower.
• Concrete/absolute — Standard industrial path.
• Enfleurage memory — Historic Grasse method for jasmine.
• Hedione chassis — Build air first, absolute second.
• Attar sambac — Kannauj hydro-distillation into sandal.

Steps

1. Name the species

   Grandiflorum or sambac.

   They are not substitutes.

2. Set indole policy

   Tea-clean or night-animal.

   Hour-6 blotter is the judge.

3. Add air or fat

   Hedione versus ylang/sandal.

   Both at once can soap.

4. Watch benzyl acetate

   Fruity cheapness creeps in fast.

   Cut with green stem.

5. Macerate

   Absolutes need time in alcohol.

   Chill-filter wax.

6. Test beside rose

   Joy logic: one must lead.

   50/50 often greys out.

Limits

• Cost of Grasse — True French jasmine is a rounding error in most formulas.
• Indole rejection — A large minority reads mothballs, not flowers.
• IFRA / sensitizers — Some floral constituents capped; “100% natural jasmine” is still a formula problem.

A good Jasmine formula knows its IFRA ceiling before it knows its ad.
