Steps
- Blend three chains
C-10, C-11, C-12.
One chain is a joke, not No. 5.
- Ballast with flowers
Jasmine and rose, real or honest accords.
Sparkle without a heart is laundry.
- Add a cream wood
Ylang and sandal.
Hollow aldehydes scream.
- Smell on skin at hour 2
Tops are champagne; the test is the heart.
If only soap remains, recut C-12.
- Compare to a bar of soap
Know the failure mode.
Then smell No. 5.
- Restage under IFRA
Do not chase 1921 grams.
Chase the proportion.
Limits
- Detergent training — A century of soap stole the aldehydes’ innocence.
- Approachability — Many testers bounce at the first sparkle.
- Icon weight — Everything aldehydic is compared to No. 5 and usually loses.
A good Aldehydic formula knows its IFRA ceiling before it knows its ad.
