The six steps below are a studio loop; they are not a safety sheet.
Methods
- Steam woods — Cedar and sandal stills.
- Iso E chassis — Build the haze, then add a name (pepper, orange).
- Pencil accord — Virginia cedar + a hint of incense.
- Mineral wood — Flint, grapefruit, cedar (Terre).
- CITES substitution — Swap protected sandal for cedar-synth.
Steps
- Name the wood
Pencil cedar, atlas, or haze.
“Woody” alone is a cop-out.
- Lift with peel or pepper
Otherwise it is a closet.
One lift only.
- Keep floral as a guest
Bois des Îles logic.
A bouquet makes it floral-woody, a new brief.
- Dose Iso E on skin days
It deafens the blender.
Blind spots are normal.
- Watch sawdust
Too much virginiana is a hardware store.
Add a milk wood or musk.
- Longevity is easy
Don’t add resin until it is oriental.
Woods already last.
Limits
- Anosmia to Iso E — A share of wearers smell little.
- CITES and harvest — True sandal and some woods are constrained.
- Uniform masculines — 2010s haze fatigue.
A good Woody formula knows its IFRA ceiling before it knows its ad.
