Steps
- Start with galbanum traces
It stains a formula.
Blotter first, skin second.
- Choose leaf type
Violet (suede), tomato (garden), grass (picnic).
Three leaves = salad chaos.
- Give a floral or iris landing
Vent Vert and No. 19 both land.
Pure snap is a candle oil.
- Keep sugar out
Green plus vanilla is toothpaste-garden.
Dry woods only.
- Test on heat
Hexenol vanishes; judge the resin.
If only bitterness remains, add rose or iris.
- Watch gasoline talk
A bit is galbanum character; a lot is a spill.
Recut with bergamot.
Limits
- Approachability — Bitter openings lose mall testers.
- IFRA moss — Classic green chypres lost their floors.
- Short grass — cis-3-Hexenol is a greeting, not a day.
A good Green formula knows its IFRA ceiling before it knows its ad.
