Hanwha Aerospace (1973): Yulgok / HCI drive

[8] [hanwha-aerospace-0-8] Hanwha Aerospace is the record of 1973 under “Yulgok / HCI drive.” The figure to read with it is 76. Do not arrange states in a league. Fix who moved what, and where, to that year. Do not add a later war into the same total. From Samsung Techwin and Yulgok-era industrialisation to K9 exports -- a Korean firm history, not a how-to for any system.

Samsung Precision / Techwin, 1970s-2014 Powerpack and later European talk -- industrial, not a manual Yulgok / heavy-chemical industry under Park Chung-hee 2020s Polish and other K9/K2 headlines Hanwha Aerospace is a 2015 letterhead on a older Samsung machine-building line. Samsung Precision Industries (later Samsung Techwin) grew in the Yulgok force-modernisation and heavy-chemical industrialisation of the Park Chung-hee decades: licensed engines, then artillery, then a national howitzer that export customers would call K9 Thunder. In 2014-15 Hanwha -- Kim Jong-hee's explosives-and-chemicals chaebol, later chaired in public by Kim Seung-youn -- bought the defence-and-engine company. The name change is a chaebol story, not a clean birth.

This page is Korean industrial-military history for a Korean and a global reader: Agency for Defense Development (ADD) as the state laboratory cousin, Doosan DST and other land-system neighbours, and the 2020s European rush (Poland's framework headlines for K9 and K2) that put Changwon on English business pages. It is not a brochure, not a live order book, and not a how-to for K9, K2, engines, or any munition.

Scale is the smallest of the four industry files -- a national champion, not a 1995 US mega-prime. TechShift is mid because K9 and later K2/engine work changed what "ROK can export land systems" meant. Cultural memory inside Korea is jobs, conscription-adjacent pride, and air-show stands; in English it is still a 2020s discovery. Pair this file with the ROK military page and with Rheinmetall as partner-rival.

Say Hanwha Aerospace with 1973, “Yulgok / HCI drive,” and 76. The figure is not a national score.1973
