This week’s study

Pretesting, Pre-event freeze, 88

Tuesday evening: at the desk, write only 88 and 88 for Pretesting on the card. Put “Pre-event freeze” under Pretesting. At the timer, count 88 once. Do not write a diagnosis beside Pretesting. Leave 88 and Pre-event freeze at the desk.

Pretesting is “Pre-event freeze” in 88, and the figure kept beside it is 88. This week, use one method only, and do not blur the time by mixing another method. Do not read a count of misses as a person’s ability. Keep only the figure on the card. A list of due guess-then-study cards is enough. Fancy charts are optional. At the desk, open Pretesting so the card shows 88 first, 88 next, and “Pre-event freeze” beside them.

This week, before you start the timer, write the method’s name, the year, and the figure on the desk card, and study once only for that many minutes. When the timer rings, close the card and do not run a second round the same day. The order is Pretesting, 88, 88, then “Pre-event freeze”. When the timer is done, look again only at 88 for Pretesting and leave 88 on the card.

Do not judge the method by a rank of scores, and do not write a diagnosis on the card. Check that the method on the card and the timer you started today are the same study, and if not, turn the timer off and only read the card. Do not read a count of misses as a person’s ability. Keep only the figure on the card. Match Pre-event freeze with 88 at the desk before you close 88 for Pretesting. Pretesting is “Pre-event freeze” in 88, and the figure kept beside it is 88.
