This week’s study

Active recall, Pre-event freeze, 94

Saturday morning: at the desk, write only 94 and 94 for Active recall on the card. Put “Pre-event freeze” under Active recall. At the timer, count 94 once. Do not write a diagnosis beside Active recall. Leave 94 and Pre-event freeze at the desk.

Active recall is “Pre-event freeze” in 94, and the figure kept beside it is 94. This week, use one method only, and do not blur the time by mixing another method. Do not read a count of misses as a person’s ability. Keep only the figure on the card. Do not turn commentary into closed-book prompts unless the sitting asks you to recite it. At the desk, open Active recall so the card shows 94 first, 94 next, and “Pre-event freeze” beside them.

This week, before you start the timer, write the method’s name, the year, and the figure on the desk card, and study once only for that many minutes. When the timer rings, close the card and do not run a second round the same day. The order is Active recall, 94, 94, then “Pre-event freeze”. When the timer is done, look again only at 94 for Active recall and leave 94 on the card.

Do not judge the method by a rank of scores, and do not write a diagnosis on the card. Check that the method on the card and the timer you started today are the same study, and if not, turn the timer off and only read the card. Do not read a count of misses as a person’s ability. Keep only the figure on the card. Match Pre-event freeze with 94 at the desk before you close 94 for Active recall. Active recall is “Pre-event freeze” in 94, and the figure kept beside it is 94.
